Kellen is the owner and visionary of The Fitness District. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), recognized by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). He began personal training as a Medical Exercise Specialist, in 2007. Kellen trained to pay for his education at CSUMB where he studied under Kent Adams, PhD and CSCS. Adam’s made CSUMB only the forth university in California to be recognized by the NSCA for having a strength and conditioning curriculum. Kellen graduated from CSUMB with a bachelor’s of science in Kinesiology with an interdisciplinary focus on exercise science. His current goal is to bridge the gap between health professionals and our community, via The Fitness District. Countless hours have been spent with website designer, Rylan Utegaard, to create this interactive website that will help accomplish his goal. Kellen says, “We are a group of health professionals excited about our field, excited about what’s coming next… I don’t want to just provide a service to our community. I want to educate and interact with our community upon a common interest, health!" Specialities:

Katelyn Wood is a Certified Athletic Trainer who graduated from San Diego State University with a bachelors of science degree in Kinesiology. While in school she worked closely with multiple Division I sports teams, including two years with San Diego State Football. She has interned with the San Diego Chargers team doctor, worked for a local orthopedic surgeon, and spent time practicing medicine in Central America. Currently she works in a physical therapy setting where she is able to utilize her rehabilitative exercise skills daily, teaches group exercises classes, and is the athletic trainer for Robert Louis Stevenson Football. When Katelyn is not working she can be found soaking up some sunshine or working on her applications for graduate school to become a physician assistant. Specialities:

Kristin Wood graduated from San Jose State University. She is a bay area Registered Dietitian who is an expert on what to eat. She has advanced training in Adult Weight Management, Sports Nutrition, and Intuative Eating. Kristin currently works at Kaiser Permanante as a Clinical Outpatient Dietitian providing one-on-one counseling for individuals and teaching a variety of nutrition classes. When she is not doing something nutrition related you might find her practicing yoga, taking her dog for a walk, or enjoying the cusine at one of the San Francisco's delicious restaurants. |

Brian is a certified personal trainer accredited by the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). Brian has 8 years experience and is a unique asset to The Fitness District team due to his athletic background and apprenticeship with Gregory Pouchet, owner of the Rolfing and Transformative Movement studio in Monterey. Brian played three seasons of basketball at the University of Purdue Calumet on a full athletic scholarship. He uses his past and present knowledge to propel his clients to the next level of their training. Specialities:

Mollie Newman was born and raised in Carmel Valley, CA. She is a California State University of Monterey Bay Alum who received her degree in Human Development, and is a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. She has great respect for Monterey County, and has always wanted to give back to the community. Through personal training she feels she is able to make a healthy footprint on the peninsula, and guide people to live a more healthy and rewarding lifestyle. She takes pride in our area, and all that we have to be grateful for between the beaches, hiking trails and community centers. Mollie is a competitive wakeboarder who feels her years of being an athlete combined with her years spent injured in physical therapy benefit her understanding and passion for personal training. Getting certified through NASM brought her athletic background and Human Development degree full circle. |
